Sophie Young tells her shocking true story in Please Will Someone Help Me? Sophie Young was born into a dysfunctional family, with a violent mother and father. Sophie was routinely neglected and harmed, starved and left to fend for herself. Social workers were often involved but, despite numerous visits and extensive reports, nothing was ever done. When Sophie was six, her life took another horrible turn: her adored grandfather began to sexually abuse her. Please Will Someone Help Me? is Sophie Young's heartbreaking story about a young girl at the mercy of the adult world. With full access to her social work files, she shows how those who are meant to help children can be blind to the reality of their lives; but how, ultimately, love conquers all. Sophie Young was the eldest of three, born into a dysfunctional family that she fought for years to escape. Now forty years old, she lives in England with her husband and children, and works as a volunteer for a national children's charity.

"What Jesus Did For Me" is the title of my book and the very first poem I wrote. I went through a period of depression, brought on by tormenting voices in my head. At the time, most of the people around me associated the depression with Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D), as it mainly seemed to affect me during the winter months. It wasn't until I became a Born Again Christian that I discovered that the problem was actually spiritual. During the time that I suffered from depression, I lost all my confidence and self-esteem. I had no hope. I became nervous and fearful and I wanted to give up and die. The voices made me believe that I was no good, I was useless, but most of all, that I was a wicked and bad person. I got to a point where I didn't recognise myself anymore. I had always considered myself to be good person; reliable, dependable, kind, thoughtful, and caring. Suddenly, I was told I was somebody different. This became too much for me to bear. Even worse, the voices told me that God would reject me, He would never love me and He would turn me away if I went to Him. Being raised as a Catholic, I believed that God loved everyone, so I was absolutely devastated when I believed that I was not good enough to be loved by God. Eight months after becoming Born Again, the Holy Spirit would visit me during the early hours of the morning. He would minister words of peace and comfort to me. This brought healing to my pain. I now feel safe, secure, and significant. I now know that I have purpose to my life. My poems seek to edify, encourage and inspire other readers, and to let them know that Jesus not only changes lives, but He also heals brings peace, joy, hope and comfort into our lives. My book is written in a poetic style. My poems depict my journey to salvation and illustrate how I have grown and matured in Christ. As you read through my poems you will experience the sense of new hope, strength and joy that God has given me through having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Every one of my poems was Holy Spirit inspired to bring comfort and healing, but many of them also serve as words of wisdom, warning, direction and praise. They also show how God inhabits the praises of His people, and how ones praise can completely change your circumstances around. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you as He ministered to me as you read through the pages of What Jesus Did For Me'.

The book, Plays One: Adaugo, Daring Destiny, Giddy Festival, The Dawn of Full Moon and Withered Thrust, is a compilation of plays by an African female Playwright, Osita Catherine Ezenwanebe Ph. D, an Associate Professor of dramatic Arts, University of Lagos Nigeria, a Visiting Professor and Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Winston-Salem State University, North Carolina, USA. It is aimed at making the plays available to her foreign audience who learnt of the plays during her scholarly activities as a Senior Fulbright Visiting Professor in United States of America. The plays are African Total Theatre, a functional and multidimensional view of theatre employing mime, songs, dances, chants, rituals, dialogue, etc. to drive home the message. The plays cover her though about the symbiotic relationship between drama and society and capture the social upheavals in Africa and modern world in general. Her perspective is humanist with a special concern for women and youth. Withered Thrust (2007) captures the pervasiveness of corruption; a social epidemic in which the oppressed employ anarchic ways of survival and social crusaders are infested with the same contagion as those they avowedly oppose, making the future look very bleak. Giddy Festival (2009) extends the theme of social rot and moral decay by focusing on the moral bankruptcy of the ruling class and its consequent atrophy of spirit: the politicians are giddy in merriment, full of empty rhetoric, egotistic, morally perverse, ideologically bankrupt and administratively incompetent; the suffering masses adopt anarchic indifference as a shield, and the law is made to look as an ass, resulting in a high disregard of the dignity of the human person. The drum beats, heralding the joyous moment of the power bloc; simultaneously, disjointed bones are fall-offs from the drum beat of their merriment. What a giddy festival! The Dawn of Full Moon (2009) brings a light of hope in the state of woman in many societies of the world where they still labor under the yoke of oppression. The play celebrates the sanctity of womanhood by dramatizing the dark days of a helpless, less privileged teenage girl and her victorious triumph when she blossoms like the dazzling brightness of full moon; strong, forceful and irresistible. It is a play deliberately meant to instill hope and confidence in women and youths. The Dawn of Full Moon also recreates the revolutionary love necessary for sustaining communal ties and gender complementarity. 2. In Adaugo (2011) the playwright deconstructs the suppressive oppression of women embedded in the rigidity of traditional social roles of male breadwinning and female home keeping in modern world and presents it as a major source of crisis in gender relation. By making the female protagonist, Adaugo, excel in both roles at a time her husband could not perform his due to circumstances beyond his control, the playwright celebrates the strength of women and calls for a change in the conception of masculinity in the face of modern experiences. In all, the play upholds the complementarity of the sexes which the playwright sees as imperative for traditional family and communal life. 3. Daring Destiny is a play that advocates Spartan courage and tenacity of purpose as the surest means of achieving a desirable destiny. It dramatizes the fate of the youth in a state where years of misrule has given way to anarchy. Mindless politicians and vicious capitalists cripple the people to penury and turn the youth into expendable cannon folders thereby setting up frightening destiny as their future. The youth are urged to dare such destiny and never give in to despair.

Death comes for us all, and the desire to ease into that death is as ancient as humankind. The idea that sometimes it is better to die quickly and in control of that death--rather than linger in pain and misery once impending death is certain--has troubled yet comforted humankind. In Doctor, Please Help Me Die, author Tom Preston, MD, presents a thorough overview and discussion of end-of-life issues and physician-assisted death in America. Doctor, Please Help Me Die traces the history of patients seeking relief from suffering at the end of life and discusses how cultural and professional customs have inhibited many doctors from helping their patients at the end. Preston shows how most doctors fail their patients by not discussing dying with them and by refusing to consider legal physician aid in dying--ultimately deceiving the public in their refusal to help patients die. He discusses the religious, political, and legal battles in this part of the culture war and gives advice to patients on how to gain peaceful dying. Preston presents a strong argument for why every citizen who is dying ought to be extended an inalienable right to die peacefully, and why every physician has an ethical obligation to assist patients who want to exercise this right safely, securely, and painlessly.

Help from Heaven

The conversations in this book were communicated directly from spirit. Connie Fox transcribed these messages word for word, as they were given to her. Much of the content relates to how everyone can easily experience the hidden presence of their own soul. There is a big difference between believing you have an eternal soul and the direct experience of knowing you are an eternal soul. Beliefs are the cause of all fears and fears are the cause of all problems. Once you go beyond your beliefs you come to know your true nature. A profound sense of peace begins to enter your awareness. By simply allowing this all-encompassing peace into your life, an inner joy and unconditional love spontaneously develops. This is life-changing. Nothing and no one in this physical world can give you this. Such peace comes only from realizing who you are beyond your beliefs. That is the essence of this book: How to live beyond your beliefs, what spiritual growth really means and how to achieve it at a rapid rate. The new knowledge from the awe-inspiring messages in Help From Heaven were communicated from the spirits of Jesus, Buddha, Archangels Gabriel and Metatron, Mother Mary, Mahavatar Babaji, Mahatma Gandhi and others. It is the opinion of Spirit that the simple act of reading these words begins to enliven the soul and heal the heart. It is not just talking around an idea of spirituality; it is delivering the actual experience. There is a Source of power greater than you alone. Find it and your life will never be the same.
