Julie Brannagh's sparkling and romantic Love and Football series continues! For Amy Hamilton, only three Fs matter: Family, Football, and Flowers. It might be nice to find someone to share Forever with, too, but right now she's working double overtime while she gets her flower shop off the ground. The last thing she needs or wants is a distraction … or help, for that matter. Especially in the form of gorgeous and aggravatingly arrogant ex-NFL star Matt Stephens. Matt lives by a playbook—his playbook. He never thought his toughest opponent would come in the form of a stunning florist with a stubborn streak to match his own. Since meeting her in the bar after her sister's wedding, he's known there's something between them. After she refuses—again and again—to go out with him, Matt will do anything to win her heart … But will Amy, who has everything to lose, let the clock run out on the one-yard line?

Do psychic powers really exist? Martin Lane asks himself the same questions as he is forced to employ the services of a psychic to help solve the disappearances of three young women. Despite his skepticism, he is surprised by the leads the psychic, Damien Rossiter, is able to give him and his assistant, Detective Pedro Gonzalez, who have had no luck in cracking the cases. Shortly after soliciting Rossiter's help, the bodies of two of the young women are discovered. Martin's suspicions are turned in many directions, directions he cannot and does not want to believe. All indications are that the killer could even come from within the ranks of his own department! Contrary to what seems to be the inevitable, he manages to unearth the true identity of the killer through old-fashioned police work and a little tom-foolery, surprising everyone around him, not least of all the killer. Visions of Murder is a mystery that delves into the recesses of psychic abilities. Damien Rossiter, the psychic employed by the Harris City Police Department has a proven record of being able to assist the authorities, he was successful in New Mexico. Now, in southern Texas, he helps Chief of Detectives Martin Lane and the ever-present, chain-smoking Detective Sergeant Pedro Gonzalez home in on the killer. Martin Lane has been "forced" into employing the psychics services by his boss and adversary, Tom Wilkins, a man who has been after Lane's job for some time. As the investigation into the disappearances and murders continue, young girls continue to disappear at an alarming rate. Forensics from the first two crime scenes pick up some vital information. A DNA match is made, and the answer is one that Martin cannot and does not believe. Unfortunately, further clues turn up that continue to point to the same person, yet despite evidence to the contrary, Martin believes that there is something a little suspicious about it all. It all seems just a little too convenient to him. Almost resigning himself to the fact that he has a killer in his own department, he suddenly figures out that the identity of the true killer can be proven, with a little bit of luck. Martin's supportive wife Amy, who continuously is pressuring him to take early retirement and work in her flower business, is exasperated by her husbands preoccupation with the case. Finally, Martin manages to extract the evidence he needs to crack the case and, with a lot of help from his friends at the crime lab, is able to positively identify the killer, surprising everyone. Love Amy

Love Amy Author Amy Clampitt

This extraordinary collection of letters sheds light on one of the most important postwar American poets and on a creative woman's life from the 1950s onward. Amy Clampitt was an American original, a literary woman from a Quaker family in rural Iowa who came to New York after college and lived in Manhattan for almost forty years before she found success (or before it found her) at the age of 63 with the publication of The Kingfisher. Her letters from 1950 until her death in 1994 are a testimony to her fiercely independent spirit and her quest for various kinds of truth-religious, spiritual, political, and artistic. Written in clear, limpid prose, Clampitt's letters illuminate the habits of imagination she would later use to such effect in her poetry. She offers, with wit and intelligence, an intimate and personal portrait of life as an independent woman recently arrived in New York City. She recounts her struggle to find a place for herself in the world of literature as well as the excitement of living in Manhattan. In other letters she describes a religious conversion (and then a gradual religious disillusionment) and her work as a political activist. Clampitt also reveals her passionate interest in and fascination with the world around her. She conveys her delight in a variety of day-to-day experiences and sights, reporting on trips to Europe, the books she has read, and her walks in nature. After struggling as a novelist, Clampitt turned to poetry in her fifties and was eventually published in the New Yorker. In the last decade of her life she appeared like a meteor on the national literary scene, lionized and honored. In letters to Helen Vendler, Mary Jo Salter, and others, she discusses her poetry as well as her surprise at her newfound success and the long overdue satisfaction she obviously felt, along with gratitude, for her recognition.
