What if Adolf Hitler didn’t die in 1945? That’s the premise of the thrilling new novel Hexenkessel: The Second Coming. Peter Thomas McDougall’s stunning book interweaves two stories. The first tells the journey of Hitler up until 1945, and the assistance given by the mysterious Dr Vorshung. The second story follows his two chief protagonists from the future, Petersen and Wagner, who want to piece together evidence proving Hitler did not die by suicide in the final days of World War II. In the second part of the book, the space/time locations are reversed. Hitler travels forward in time to present day to lead a fanatical band of Nazi terrorists unleashing war in the Middle East, before crippling the Internet and destroying the populations of Eastern Europe through genetically engineered viruses. The novel relates the incredible number of times Hitler narrowly avoided assassination attempts, his rise and fall from power, and his radical transformation after he is transported to modern times, when he again develops a deadly and daring plan to take over the world.

Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Literature, Martin Luther University (Institut für Anglistik und Amerikanistik), course: William Butler Yeats, language: English, abstract: William Butler Yeats did not just believe in the apocalypse, he was known for his prophetic insights and imaginative visions of the breakdown of civilization. As the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar ends on December, 21 in 2012, many people suggest this date marks the end of the world or of human civilization. It is of a certain interest that already in the early twentieth century Yeats was concerned with this kind of apocalyptic worldview. “The Second Coming” therefore is one of the poems that also represents his understanding of the apocalypse, which is not comparable to those who believe in the prophecy of the Mayan calendar. “For him, the apocalypse is always connected with genuine spiritual revelation [and] with vision,” as it is the literal translation of the Greek word (Howes, Kelly 2006: 52). With this iconic, prophetic poem, he is not only regarded a public hero but also deviates from established popular beliefs, wherefore he is also named the first iconoclastic Modernist in English writing. The stunning, violent imagery and terrifying ritualistic language makes “The Second Coming” an archetypal poem about the return of history with violence. Likewise, as it was composed in 1919 and published in 1920, it represents Yeats’ immediate reaction to the political instable situation of Ireland, England and Europe after Civil War, Russian Revolution and WWI. In consequence to that, “The Second Coming” is one the most obscure works of Yeats, hence quite difficult to understand in the first place. For this reason, firstly, this paper concentrates on the historical and political background information, which is fundamental to the poem’s understanding. Secondly, it is this examination’s method to analyze and interpret the poem’s form, structure and images. At that, not only “The Second Coming” in its structure but also this chapter divides into three parts, from which each displays another phase in the development of the poet’s state of mind. Consequently, each line of “The Second Coming” is examined, both to explain the poet’s development and to prove the central issues of W.B. Yeats’ poem. Eventually, this paper provides a conclusion, wherein its argumentation is summarized. This summary consequently also states the poem’s effect on the reader.

The Second Coming takes a fresh look at the Gospel of Matthew through the unconditioned eyes of a truth-seeker. The book reinterprets the Gospel of Matthew from a non-dualistic perspective and brings out spiritual insights totally unexpected. The book also brings to the forefront the forgotten character of Joseph as the 'tekton' of the Gospel. The distinctive feature of the book is that it redefines abstruse or undefined biblical terms such as, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, God, heaven, hell, Serpent, Satan, sin, etc., in a new light that makes the interpretation internally consistent, and also consistent with the external reality. According to the book, the message of the Gospel is straightforward: "The human body is the Savior. Therefore, turn to the body." The book goes beneath the literal content of the Gospel of Matthew to discover its soul.

Two thousand years ago, the Archangel Gabriel announced the coming of a new age with the birth of Jesus, the Christ. Now, Gabriel is proclaiming a new 2,000 year age, one of man's spiritual unity. This New Age was born January 23, 1997, when planets aligned to form a six point star - the same configuration that announced Jesus' birth 2,000 years ago. In this New Age, humans will follow the pattern of self mastery that Jesus demonstrated to awaken the soul. This, Gabriel says, is the Second Coming. It is not, "The Christ, the man, coming to rescue and save you...What he was telling you was that the Christ lies within you. You are the Christ. The time in evolution has come for the Christ Consciousness - the soul - to awaken in all humankind. We come to give you the step-by-step process for the awakening of the Christ Consciousness in all humanity." In this in-depth and intriguing interview, Joel D. Anastasi has transcribed wisdom received from the Archangel Gabriel, who communicated to Joel through trance channel, Robert Baker, his spiritual advisor. Working from hundreds of pages of interviews, Anastasi not only shares Gabriel's wisdom on great spiritual themes, but also provides Energizing Exercises to prepare you for the awakening of the soul.

An urgent examination into the revived Klan of the 1920s becomes “required reading” for our time (New York Times Book Review). Extraordinary national acclaim accompanied the publication of award-winning historian Linda Gordon’s disturbing and markedly timely history of the reassembled Ku Klux Klan of the 1920s. Dramatically challenging our preconceptions of the hooded Klansmen responsible for establishing a Jim Crow racial hierarchy in the 1870s South, this “second Klan” spread in states principally above the Mason-Dixon line by courting xenophobic fears surrounding the flood of immigrant “hordes” landing on American shores. “Part cautionary tale, part expose” (Washington Post), The Second Coming of the KKK “illuminates the surprising scope of the movement” (The New Yorker); the Klan attracted four-to-six-million members through secret rituals, manufactured news stories, and mass “Klonvocations” prior to its collapse in 1926?but not before its potent ideology of intolerance became part and parcel of the American tradition. A “must-read” (Salon) for anyone looking to understand the current moment, The Second Coming of the KKK offers “chilling comparisons to the present day” (New York Review of Books). 8 pages of illustrations

Wealthy from a successful career on Wall Street and from the inheritance of his deceased wife’s estate, Will is universally admired at the club where he spends his days golfing in the North Carolina sun. But everything begins to unravel when, without warning, Will’s golf shots begin landing in the rough, and he is struck with bouts of losing his balance and falling over. Just when Will appears doomed to share the fate of his father—whose suicide has haunted him his whole life—a mental hospital escapee named Allison might prove to be the only one who can save him. The being whom we call Christ once walked the earth in flesh and blood at the beginning of our era. He will never again return in a physical body, for that was a unique event and will not be repeated. But He will come again in an etheric form in the period I have mentioned. People will learn to perceive Christ by virtue of growing towards him through this etheric perception. Many contemporaries were unaware of Christ's incarnation on earth at the beginning of the modern era. And today, says Rudolf Steiner, many remain ignorant of the most important event of our time: the appearance of Christ in the etheric - or life - realm of the earth. Fundamentalist and millennial groups await a second physical incarnation, while atheists and materialists deny spirit altogether. Nevertheless, an incisive transformation is taking place in the human soul that will lead to an emerging clairvoyance. Just as Paul perceived Christ at Damascus, so may every human being experience Him today. Also available as an Audio Book
